Apple Turnovers
2 apples, cubed
1 t. cinnamon (add more if desired)
¼ c. sugar (add more if desired)
1 prepared pie crust
1 egg white
1) Put cubed apples in a bowl.
2) Add cinnamon and sugar and stir until apples are covered.
3) Divide mixture into fourths.
4) Roll out pie crust and cut into 4 pieces.
5) Place a scoop of the apple mixture onto each piece of pie crust.
6) Fold pie crust around apples.
7) Brush egg white over top of each apple turnover.
8) Bake on 350 until golden brown (about 10 min.).
9) Let sit for a couple of minutes before eating.
Banana Bread
2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 t. vanilla extract
4 eggs
6 ripe bananas, mashed
2 ½ c. flour
2 t. baking powder
½ t. baking soda
½ t. baking soda
½ t. salt
1) Cream together the sugar, butter, and vanilla until fluffy.
2) Add the eggs one at a time and beat well after each addition.
3) Gradually stir in the bananas,
4) Sift together the dry ingredients. Add to the banana mixture, carefully folding in. do not overmix.
5) Lightly grease two loaf pans.
6) Pour batter into the pans and bake on 350 for 45-60 minutes.
7) Let cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and place on cooling rack.
Chocolate Covered Pretzels
1 block of chocolate bark
Stick pretzels
1) Melt chocolate bark in the microwave (stirring occasionally).
2) Dip pretzel in melted chocolate.
3) Place pretzel on wax paper until chocolate sets.
Dirt Cake
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
3 1/2 cups milk
1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 pkg. Oreo cookies
1) Chop cookies in food processor until very fine (the white cream will disappear).
2) Mix butter, cream cheese, and sugar in bowl.
3) In a large bowl mix milk, pudding and whipped topping together.
4) Combine pudding mixture and cream mixture together.
5) Layer in serving container, starting with cookies then cream mixture. Repeat layers.
6) Chill until ready to serve. Eggs (Hard-Boiled)
Eggs
1 T. Vinegar
1) Fill pot with enough water to cover the number of eggs desired.
2) Add vinegar to water (this helps the shells peel off more easily).
3) Bring water to a boil.
4) Cover pot, remove from heat, and cook eggs 12 minutes.
5) Immediately place eggs under cool water and peel.French Toast
1 cup milk
1 package (3 ounces) cook-and-serve vanilla pudding mix
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
8 slices thick bread (like Texas Toast)
2 teaspoons butter
1) In a large bowl, whisk the milk, pudding mix, egg and cinnamon for 2 minutes or until well blended.
2) Dip toast in pudding mixture, coating both sides.
3) In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
4) Cook bread on both sides until golden brown.

Key Lime Pie
9” graham cracker pie crust
14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
3 egg yolks (egg whites not used)
½ c. key lime juice
1) Combine milk, egg yolks, and lime juice. Blend until smooth.
2) Pour filling into pie crust.
3) Bake at 350 for 15 min.
4) Allow to stand for 10 min. before refrigerating.
Lasagna
1 lb. ground turkey
1 c. chopped onions
2 cloves garlic, minced
26 oz. jar tomato and basil pasta sauce
6 lasagna noodles
1 beaten egg
2 c. cottage cheese, drained
¼ c. parmesan cheese
6 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese
1) Cook turkey, onion, and garlic in large saucepan until meat in brown.
2) Stir in jar of pasta sauce.
3) Cook noodles for 10-12 min. or until tender but still firm. Drain noodles; rinse in cold water. Drain well.
4) For filling, combine egg, cottage cheese, and parmesan cheese.
5) Spread ½ c. of sauce over bottom of rectangular baking dish. Layer as follows: half noodles, half filling, half of remaining sauce mixture, half mozzarella. Repeat layers. If desired sprinkle more parmesan over top of dish.
6) Bake on baking sheet at 375 for 30-35 min. or until heated through. Let stand 10 min. before serving.
